Mode Of Application
The scholarship programme offered by Oando Plc, mainly through its partnership in the NNPC/Oando Joint Venture (JV) and the Oando Foundation, is designed to support Nigerian students academically by providing financial assistance, especially to undergraduate students and less privileged learners, and the most popular one is the NNPC/Oando JV Tertiary Scholarship which awards about ₦200,000 annually to successful candidates until graduation, provided they maintain good academic performance.
Eligibility
To be eligible for the Oando undergraduate scholarship, applicants must be Nigerian citizens, registered as full-time students in a recognized Nigerian tertiary institution, and must be in their 100 level at the time of application, while students in 200 level and above, beneficiaries of other oil and gas scholarships, or dependents of Oando staff are not eligible to apply; additionally, some categories of the scholarship are specifically for indigenes of host communities such as Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, and Imo states, while the national merit category is open to other Nigerians studying courses like Engineering, Geology, Geosciences, or Agricultural Sciences.
How To Apply
The application procedure for the scholarship is done online through Scholastica where applicants are required to first create an account using their email, verify the account, log in to complete the application form, and upload all necessary documents, after which the application is reviewed and shortlisted candidates are invited for an aptitude test, and successful candidates are selected based on academic performance and test results.
Documents Requirements
Applicants are required to prepare and upload several important documents during the application process, including a recent passport photograph with white background, a valid school identity card, admission letter from their university, JAMB result slip, O’Level results such as WAEC or NECO, birth certificate or age declaration, proof of local government of origin, and for those applying under the host community category, additional letters from the community ruler and CDC chairman may be required, along with a completed compliance form.
Notes: Oando Foundation also runs scholarship programmes for primary and secondary school students, where beneficiaries are selected based on academic performance and financial need, and the support covers tuition, school materials, uniforms, and other educational expenses to help students continue their education without financial burden.
